Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be between the ages of 15-21 or 14 and in the 9th grade

  • Must have reliable transportation to all explorer events

  • Must be able to attend ALL explorer related events (100% attendance)

  • Must live in Martin County

  • Must be able to perform physical activities (Firefighting activities)

  • Must be willing to work as a TEAM!!

  • Must have time to study for test and pass successfully.

 

Membership Information
  • Meetings are twice a month. (Schedule given out three months in advance)
  • Must complete an initial 3 month probation.
  • Must complete CPR, Bloodbourne & AIDS Awareness & Orientation Class (during 3 month probation)
  • Must complete a minimum of 12 hours of Field Ride Time (FRT) per month.
  • Initial membership fee $20.00.
  • Monthly Dues $5.00
  • Must purchase part of the uniform- Approx cost $175

 

Important Information
I am not currently accepting applications for membership.  Please make sure to meet all the following standards.  You will have to go through the application procedure. Becoming a member of this post takes considerable dedication. You will be required to attend all meetings and events. You will also receive lectures on medical and fire topics and you will be required to study and pass successfully. You will also be required to pass a hands on practical scenario. If you are too involved with other extra curricular activities I would reconsider joining this post because your attendance will be required. If you feel you have the time and dedication to do this and you have considered becoming a firefighter/paramedic when you graduate then this may be the post for you. Please watch the site closely and GOOD LUCK.
